This headlight doesnt have the exact same connections as my OEM 2003 6i Sedan headlights. The plug that they use to connect the H1 bulbs is kind of a sandiwch slider. While this is good if you use an H1 bulb that doesnt have a plastic insulator that sticks out from its base, otherwise it wont work because the ground (or the base of the H1 bulb) isnt connected to the ground wire of the little harness connector. The housing for both the high beam and low beam was the same using and it even has the same ground connector to slide a female connector to. So I did just that and cut off the sandwich type connector and replaced it with female ends: The I replace the ends on the headlight connectors with female insulated connectors that can recieve the ground prong from the housing and another one to slide onto the back of an H1 positive end of the bulb. Overall, it took me about 15 minutes to do, which included wrapping the wires and adding a dab of solder to make sure the connections stays. I will admit, it's a pain in the butt to change out the high beams, so I just pray for your sake that you dont blow out high beam bulbs all the time. One thing I was disappointed is that the headlights did not include the plastic housing for the 1157 turn signal bulb. I had to salvage my 1157 plug housings from my old headlights. You might have to goto Mazda to get that part or try to salvage your old one if you can. I did and put in a new bulb while I was at it and it worked like a charm in the new headlight housing. If it wasn't for those 2 things (splicing of the wires to replace the crappy prongs and the 2nd thing of missing the turn signal socket plug housings), I would have given this 5 stars.
